Our Challenge

We wanted to challenge ourselves to create a compatible service that would benefit both people with limited mobility and commuters powered by future daily technology.

Our Challenge

Xing is a car-sharing service that offers L4 autonomous vehicles with accessible features, which can be called via AR glasses software. Our goal is to provide a seamless and enjoyable travel experience for everyone, with a focus on accessibility and cutting-edge design.

Aging brings an increasing number of people with limited mobility. With the current solutions, it is difficult for them to get ride independently. In the research, I saw this problem in advance, and here is the solution to this problem.

In 2040, L4 autonomous driving will redefine the relationship between people and cars. In this case, by thinking about what travel means to users, I sketched and designed a system to help people make better use of their time in the car.

In 2040, AR glasses will become the mainstream personal mobile device and it is important to respect the future context in designs. Plus, The AR interface allows users to quickly switch between their surroundings and service information, creating a safer and more seamless travel experience.

Through empathy testing and ergonomic research, I studied the AR interface design specification, which guided the design of all AR interfaces.

With the CLA map, I can see the technologies of the future in a macro system level and get inspired by seeing various interesting groupings.

All design should be user-centered. By drawing the empathy map, I had a better understanding of the user groups and their needs, which usually do not change over time.

User journey is the foundation of the service blueprint and it also helped me to divide the whole experience into sections.

Through this project, I built my communication skills in working effectively with designers from different disciplines. I proactively contacted other team members to keep abreast of the next tasks and the materials to let the team move forward.

I gained knowledge in speculative research and design methodologies, including the 4 Futures Framework and the MLA Map, which allowed me to think and design with a forward-looking perspective that anticipates technical maturity and holds strategic value
